Ralphie may seem like a strange name for such a big boy, but it suits him perfectly.  Like his namesake, from A Christmas Story, he's a silly, sweet, lovable character!

I fell in love with Ralphie, quite literally, at first sight!  An adorable, fluffy chunk of a pup, but I was wowed by his structure!

While learning the ropes, Ralphie went to a few shows and got a few points, then REALLY made us proud by winning Winner's Dog and Best of Winners at Nationals with his first handler, Fran Rupcic.

I'm fortunate enough to co-own him with his breeder, Barbara of Quantum Akitas, and get to play with him in the ring!  We took Best of Breed Owner Handled and went on to get an Owner Handled Group 3 at our first show together!  We've done pretty well, since then, too!  We finished his Championship by going Winners Dog and Best of Winners at the Heart of Texas Akita Club Regional Specialty.  To start 2026 off right, we finished his Grand Championship by going Best of Breed over the #2 dog in the country in Glen Rose, TX on January 3!

We are having so much fun, and I know there is plenty more in store for this big handsome boy!
